thank 도 흔히 '~에게 --를 감사하다'라는 뜻으로 쓰여서 이를 수여 동사로 착각하기 쉽습니다.
하지만, thank는 3형식으로 쓰입니다.
또한 thank 다음에는 대상인 사람이 바로 오지만 어떤 일에 대해서라는 의미의 전치사 for와 명사 상당어구가 결합이 된다는 것을 유의해야 합니다.
4 형식 수여동사를 3 형식으로 바꾸는 것과 착각을 해서는 안됩니다.
즉 ,Thank (sth) for (사람)이 아니라 thank (사람) for (sth)의 어순이 된다는 것을 기억하시길 바랍니다.

수여동사로 생각하기 쉬운 동사입니다. 하지만, 이러한 동사들은 모두 3형식 동사로 뒤에 사람이 목적어로 오고 전치사 뒤에 명사가 붙어서 사용이 됩니다.

하지만 한 행위는 전치사 of 명사의 형태로 표현되어 있다는 것을 기억하시길 바랍니다.
