아래와 같은 동사들은 진행형으로 쓸수 없습니다.
존재, 소유
-> be, exist, have, possess, own
지각
:( 지각 하는 사람이 주어인 경우) -> see, hear, smell, taste, feel
(지각 되는 사물이 주어인 경우) -> look, sound, smell, taste, feel
The house looked empty.
The music that they were playing sounded beautiful.
정신 활동 : love, hate, know, understand, remember
구조, 관계 : consist, belong, resemble, cost
하지만, 다음 의지가 포함 되는 지각 동사는 진행형으로 쓸수 있습니다.
비의지 지각 동사와 다른 동사 : look at, listen to
비의지 지각 동사와 같은 동사: smell, taste, feel
- l am looking at your photographs. (들여다 보다)
I am listening to a new record.(청취하다)
I am smelling the perfume. (냄새를 맡아보다.)
I am tasting the soup.(맛을 보다)
I am feeling for the light switch. (손으로 더듬다.)
